The Operatic Four Players
Featuring…
Deeji Killian, soprano
Catherine Treadgold, mezzo soprano
Stuart Lutzenhiser, tenor
Bob Tangney, baritone
with...
Karin McCullough, pianist
Deeji Killian, Catherine Treadgold, Stuart Lutzenhiser, Bob Tangney, collectively known as The Operatic Four Players, crossed paths in the Seattle area many times before joining forces. As a group, along with accomplished pianist and teacher Karin McCullough, they polished their act for over three years singing opera and musical theater on Friday nights at a Seattle Bistro.
Deeji and Bob (who are married) met while playing Musetta and Colline in Puccini’s La Bohème at Kitsap Opera. Catherine got to know them as a couple doing a production of Gounod’s Faust in which Deeji starred as Marguerite, Bob played her brother Valentine, and Catherine had the role of Siebel, the young boy who has a crush on Marguerite. Everyone in the group has been involved with Seattle Opera: Deeji, Stuart and Catherine have sung in the company’s public previews, Deeji has performed six main stage roles, and Bob was a member of the Seattle Opera chorus from 1988 to 2004.
